Spinal vascular malformation in a 12 years old child. Diagnostic challenges and management strategies adopting a multidisciplinary approach.

Background: Spinal vascular malformations (SVM) are a complex entity and rarely noted in children. They commonly seen the elderly with predilection for thoraco-lumbar region. The incidence varies from 3-11% across all age groups. presenting features initial stages paraplegia, abnormal gait, paraesthesia, radicular pain diffuse sensory symptoms. If not detected early they can lead to further spinal cord compression cause urinary retention, bladder, bowel incontinence or erectile dysfunction. Despite advances diagnosis treatment, complexity of pathology makes treatment challenging child.
 Case presentation: We present 12 years old female child who presented lower limb weakness, diminished reflexes retention. Nerve conduction velocity was suggestive motor axonal neuropathy. Magnetic resonance imaging spine paraspinal malformation has recovered after surgical intervention embolization.
 Conclusion: is extremely rare children very few reported cases. A multi-disciplinary approach beginning detailed history taking clinical examination invaluable such complicated cases deal various aspects pathology.
